The Horsefair Pub & Rooms stands on The Horsefair, a short walk north of Romsey’s central streets on the road that leads out towards Stockbridge. Older “Star” signage can still cause momentary confusion for anyone looking for the previous name, The Star Inn.

The Grade II listed eighteenth-century building was once the tap house for Strong’s Brewery, which stood nearby until the early 1980s. Inside, a single large room centres on a wood-burning stove at the lounge end of the bar. It is a free house, usually with a small selection of local cask ales on hand. The overall feel remains that of a traditional town pub rather than a polished dining room or modern bar.

Food is prepared on the premises with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
