Romsey Ice Cream & Coffee Bar
Romsey Ice Cream & Coffee Bar occupies the former Barclays Bank building on Market Place, in the centre of historic Romsey. The building’s origins are easy to spot in the high ceilings and solid stone façade, now home to a café that has quickly built a following among both residents and visitors passing through the town.
The business opened in November 2025 under owner Scarlett Roche, launching with a winter menu built around coffee, desserts and soup, a practical offering for a launch heading into the colder months.

The Market Place location puts it within easy reach of Romsey Abbey and the town’s other independent shops, making it a natural stop for anyone spending a morning or afternoon in the area.
The mix of hot and cold options means it works as well for a coffee break on a wet afternoon as it does for an ice cream on a warm one. That flexibility has helped it build a steady mix of regulars and passing trade since opening.
For visitors unfamiliar with Romsey, the bar is a useful marker of the town’s ongoing shift toward independent food and drink businesses filling older commercial buildings in the centre. It sits alongside the town’s other cafés and shops rather than competing head on with them, offering something distinct in both its setting and its combined ice cream and coffee format.
Further updates and opening details are posted on the Facebook page.
